....how do you make links look good?
let's try this regular posting thing again:
I'm ashamed of...
my standoffish-ness. i'm no good at parties or cafeterias or long car rides. i never know what to say - and if i do come up with something, it's usually boring.
so, this is a late entry for everything, really:
1. happy new years (both gregorian and chinese). 2007 was great, but 2008 will be great-er. great has part of 2008 in its name - gr8 - see? this year'll (or, the next 10 1/2 months'll) be awesome. my resolution is: be happy
2. you know all those book reviews i promised you guys? there's actually a site for stuff like that - check out my account here: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/79297
(it's ugly because i still haven't figured out how to link on lj)
3. took my exams. so far, the results have been pretty good.
4. my birthday was 2 days ago. hurrah for another trip around the sun. got some awesome gifts - songs, catapults and b&n cards.
5. am on break now.
Rants below. Ignore it, unless you indulge in shadenfreude. Maybe at some point I'll start posting book reviews again.
Ignoring that though, I've read 50 books this school year.
So, this is life:
got a blogspot. (see it here)
finished Buddenbrooks .(731 pgs, published 1901, written by T. Mann, rather good, though long)
am going to get interviewed some kid from the school paper. (why? because i ride my bike instead of driving, or being driven, to school. that's kind of pathetic)
i'm stealing (modding) this question from
illegibility & the lj-post-thing:
What is (are) your favorite band(s)?
everything's too easy, and this early nothing matters anyway.
my brother's birthday is tomorrow, and i got a dog. (i'm fine, thank you, how are you?)
can't agree with anyone on anything important (religion, politics, music),
so am reduced to moaning about my day. yes, that makes a lovely impression.
finished some books - pretty decent ones actually. I dunno if you (all, guys, gals, etc) care.
this is getting ridiculous.
later, earthlings - perhaps, on another planet, we're the aliens.
I do, thereby sinking to new depths of pathetic-ness.
Just got off from another week of school, where I remembered why I like my friends and hate my teachers. Though the only thing I can really talk about (without fighting/alienating other people) is music, and even that's a bit risky.
Heh.
ANYWAY, because of school I didn't hear about the marrige between MCR's frontman and MSI's bassist (I think) until Wednesday. Apparently I'm still in denial because I wrote this:
First day of school. Boring as hell, so of course I came up with this.
It's 170 words, isn't fandom, and gives no description whatsover of its characters.
Step 1. Put your playlist on random.
Step 2. Post a line from the first 25 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3. Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly. NO GOOGLING! That's cheating, dudes.
'Cause I just thought he was a homosexual.
...fundamentalist religious people are weird...
Couldn't choose. Too many people out there I wanna be. So I settle for writing about them.
(Is it just me, or are all of my answers cop outs?)
Damnit, poetry (writing?) doesn't have to be sad. Just because you write weepy, dark shit doesn't mean you're any more mature than those of us who write about sunshine and kittens. In fact, it makes you sound melodramatic and idiotic. Realistic only means pessimistic in International Relations.
